Meet the Teacher Behind Kile’s Classroom

Idiom Day- A super fun way to celebrate a figurative language unit.
Talk Like a Pirate Day!

Let me guess. You’ve walked into your classroom, looked around at 28 sets of eyeballs staring back at you, and thought, “Okay… how do I survive this without losing my mind?” If that sounds familiar, pull up a chair. You’re in the right place.

Hi, I’m Jennifer. I’ve taught everything from fifth through eighth grade, but my heart belongs to the fifth and sixth graders. They’re goofy enough to laugh at my corny jokes and smart enough to debate me about whether pineapple belongs on pizza. (It does, by the way.)

Over the years, I’ve been called fun, hard working, and trustworthy—which is a nice way of saying I’m the teacher who can turn a class that looks like chaos into a well oiled machine all while the kids are laughing and having and engaging with each other. I’m the one who puts the “extra grace required” kid right next to me to be sure they are included and valued and get a bit of social behavior coaching, who gives the wiggly kid a standing desk, and who still expects both of them to learn something. And yes, I will play tag at recess, and I will also beat you in Uno without mercy.

My classroom motto? Structure with a smile.

That same mindset is what led me to start Kile’s Classroom on Teachers Pay Teachers. I was tired of boring worksheets that kids filled out halfway before shoving them in a desk. My resources are built with kids in mind—tools that actually help kids think, catch their own mistakes, and grow instead of pretending they understood. I love creating guided notes that turn into a real reference, and partner math activities that spark so much talking you’d think I bribed the kids to argue about math.

Guided Notes For Learning

I do not make “perfect result” resources. I make resources that let kids mess up and then fix it. That is where the learning happens.

Outside of teaching, you should know a few things. I drink way too much coffee, I read Harry Potter like it is a personality trait, I hike every chance I get, and I have a golden retriever with his own YouTube channel. He is basically my class pet co-teacher—without the grading. Check him out for some relaxing classroom resources! (www.youtube.com/@kilesclassroom8787)

So if you are looking for a teacher friend who mixes structure with play, humor with practicality, and resources that actually work in the real world of teaching, welcome. My hope is that by the time you finish reading this, you’ll be thinking, “I want to teach with her.”

Welcome to Kile’s Classroom. I’m glad you are here!
